Pork Sausage Experiment
First attempt at a pork sausage loosely based on white pudding.
It tastes pretty good, but there’s definitely too much fat and salt. Also, the onion isn’t quite mixed in; I’m not very good at mincing vegetables. I’ll try reworking some of the ingredients.
If you want to experiment with this, here are the ingredients I used:
- 1/2 pound of ground pork
- 1/2 cup of “old-fashioned” or quick rolled oats
- 3/4 cup of water (to boil the oats)
- 1/2 of a medium onion
- 2 ounces of lard (too much, maybe cut this down to 1 ounce)
- 1 teaspoon of salt (a bit too much, maybe cut this down to 1/2 teaspoon)
- 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper
Boil the oats in the water, mince the onion, and mix everything together in a large bowl. Fry on medium heat until brown.
